My work is a culmination of my life's experience, my philosophies, my apprecciation of my favorite artists, the inherrent desire of the stones spirit, and the encouragement from my mentor, my parents, and family.
I not only have the honor of bringing out the soul of the stone, but I have a full time relationship with the mountain from which it comes. In a sense I have watched every piece of work I create being born from the mountain, from the Mother herself. I harvest the stone with my mentor, and then reflect and listen to every piece until it speaks to me, and then I bring it to fruition. Amazingly enough, the stone rewards me with unplanned abstract additions to the entire sculpture. The abstractness of the stones I work with bring me excitement as I unveil them, because there is art within the stone itself. You can enjoy each sculpture in a different light every time you look at them. "Pictures within sculptures."
